nothing new. it's still the same old me busy sending out resumes. still no jobs, but everyday i am getting better at surfing the net, improving my typing speed, and honing my interview skills. even though things may not work out in the end, it is a good learning process nonetheless.

driving up to taunton this weekend to pick up my lexus. not really looking forward to the 2hr drive back alone, and a little worried too, cos i haven't driven in a long while. hopefully traffic will be light, drivers will be patient with me, weather will be good, and most importantly, hopefully i will be steady at the wheel- no abrupt lane switching, no changing of lanes without first checking blindspot, no losing my way home. Goodness, and i got my driver's license long ago. i really need more practice.

needs vs wants. how does one go about choosing between the two? oh well, sometimes there are things you do becos you have to. although this is not exactly the job i was looking for... let's put aside personal preferences for now. this might turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
looking at the positive side, at least it means a more secure future for us both here. it's always good to have your eggs in more than one basket. and if i am really sian, there is always retail therapy i can turn to for help. heh.

havent been in here for a long time- been busy the last couple of days with interviews. hopefully something good comes out of it. i especially like the position at Investors Capital. we will find out tomorrow.
yifan's been looking for a new blogging site for me. this one's terrible. will really try my best to post more pics soon, probly within the next 2 days.
currently reading the book " Winning People Over". it's a good read and highly recommended.
the weather is slowly turning warmer by the day. more rain in the next few days tho'. My ex-colleague once said April showers bring May flowers.i am so not looking forward to the rain, unless of cos i am nicely tucked in bed.

i'm almost done with my Roald Dahl collection. his stories kind of disturb me. yet i am addicted, or mabbe i read for want of something to do. i dont know.

The Truman Show is on tv now. Dun like it. It's another of those things that make me uneasy and perturbed.

sigh. poor papa recovering in hospital from appendicitis. and heard from sue ann that someone we know just passed away. :-(
bad news lately, and poor yifan's been suffering from a stye for the last few days. hopefully everyone will be better soon!

think i am going mad. this stupid jingle's stuck in my head. i hear it in my head the whole day, and first thing when i wake up.. urggh! just like that " Di-Da-Di" song years ago in the exam hall.
my internet's been giving me problems lately; according to the comcast guy, it's time to change the modem. yifan doesn't believe him, he said modems almost never break down. well, i don't know lah.
He has been busy learning Flash MX so he can tinkle more with this site, it looks difficult to me, can't be bothered, I am just the end user.

Never knew i was a shopaholic till I stepped into Wrentham outlet mall.. that was the start. Now, I am exposed to all kinds of malls and stores that I never thought existed. Sigh! Even grocery shopping in NY makes me excited. Guess if there's no fish, prawns will do just fine, if you know what I mean... ;-) Currently saving up for a SLR, or should I say, contemplating to spend on an unnecessary item. the colour quality of the pics we have now are real bad. mabbe cos i'm old liao( and just look plain bad in pictures), but mostly i blame it on the digicam we have now.
The lexus is doing well tho'... just got some new Toyota Supra black leather seats.. yay! and yifan has been enjoying them, trying it out in our living room watching TV!!!

Skiing fun, aching butts

Just got back from a session of nite skiing. Shiok, but not without the falls. And the toughest part of it all ( for me, at least) was skiing off from the ski lift. too pampered from the european ski slopes where you could catch your breath before you actually start skiing. The ski ramp here starts immediately after the lifts drop you off.
pity the batteries couldn't last enough for more pics, we forgot to charge.
yifan was quite good though, surprisingly. ;) He had secret training when he was in Wisconsin! Except for the last bit when we were preparing to leave and he tried to remove his skis, lost his balance and fell, right in front of a group of people. Overall experience: ultra fun, wet jeans, bodies aching, and a hole in our pockets! My entire body is aching now, esp my butt from all the falls. Looking forward to a full body massage by yifan tonight! He better not fall asleep on me. Spring coming in 9 days, till next winter!!

eeww..can't stand the itch anymore. my toes are falling off. heh.
back aching too. i must really get a cushion for my back soon. urrgh. more back- cracking later.

FINALLY!! somethin is seriously wrong with the blogger site. aiyooo.
and i really must catch up on all my readings.

it's almost a luxury, made me feel like its CNY again..heh

It's snowing so very heavily right now, and the cars are moving at snail's pace. I am so not looking forward to lunch today cos its the same ol Kiam Chye Aar. Luckily there is always chilli padi to save the day. What would I do without it?
Thinking of going skiing this weekend since there's going to be snow again. Yippee! Can't wait to see Yifan and his awkward moves. Hah. Not that I can ski lah. But its always nice to see someone who is worse or at best, on par with you. Hehhe, I am so mean, he is gonna say " Sha!!!" when he reads this. Oooh, I like.

I am soo excited..

First time cooking Kiam Chye Aar. Hopefully it turns out okay. Initial taste was far from how I think it should be based on years of eating Kim's yummy soups.
Heh, mabbe I can blame it on the preserved plum I used. I had used the kind I eat when I feel nauseous instead, simply becos I couldnt find the right one to use at the Viet supermarket yesterday and Yifan thinks we can make do with whatever we have since we aren't gonna cook this dish often. Still, the soup tasted kind of duckish raw when I took a sip. I am a little worried that the soup is gonna suck since this is the only dish we are going to have for dinner!!

Its snowing heavily right now. Just 2 nites ago, we were caught in a blizzard on the way back from Mass. It was an experience. The snow was coming down so heavily that it was like bright flashes of light coming right at us at top speed. It seemed like we were driving into a tunnel of some sort, and we could not see to the sides and couldnt tell if the car was going straight.
I have been in a thoughtful mood the whole day. Lots of thoughts running thru my mind, thoughts about friendship and trust. I can't exactly describe my feelings right now. But I know they are not happy feelings. Simply put, I am a little sad, a little apprehensive, and very confused.
I can't wait to talk to Yifan about it. Guess I'll have to wait till the morning cos its 12.30am now and he's sleeping. He would understand how I feel and know how to make me feel better.
