Black Friday Weekend

For the first time ever ( not counting last year in Seattle), we managed to join in some Black Friday fun. It was crazy!

A cartoon version of the mayhem.

The reality wasn't too far off either.

Before we left to join the crowds outside... our own " Thanksgiving" dinner, prepared by Yifan.

Thankfully, the situation was nowhere near as chaotic in our neck of the woods when we finally joined the throngs of people gathered outside CompUSA.

We emerged 2 hours later with a set of computer keyboard and mouse, and 2 Dustbusters, without making a dent in our wallets!!

Elsewhere, people were already in line to get the best deals at Circuit CIty even though the store was not due to open for another 6 hours. To get them through the cold long night, they brought along their tents.

Saturday was cold and rainy, but we couldn't let the Biggest Shopping Weekend in the entire year just slip us by!

Babies r Us

We very nearly ended up with 2 carts-worth of baby items. No thanks to the stupid store card application, we will now have to make a second trip back next month. So all we had to show for that 4 hours in the store was a little crib mattress and an order for the crib!

Dinner was at Texas Land and Cattle.

Thanksgiving's barely over, and already people have started decorating their houses for Christmas!

Current Mood: cold
