It started snowing heavily again.. snowstorm travelling up north from VA. Yippee but at the same time, I'm gonna have a sleepless nite cos there will be snowploughs ploughing the roads in the middle of the nite, not to mention the scrape-scrape noise from ploughing the pavement just outside my window.
Got to know this girl from SIN who is currently residing in NY. Talked to her online a bit, just to find out more. Boy do we have so many things in common!
For one, she is my age. Then I found out she was also from Bizad, also a Marketing major ( but I dun have any recollection of her at all), also from a Peranakan family, and had studied in University of Wisconsin, Madison for a while ( exchange program, but hey, that's where Yifan used to study)!!!
However, due to personality differences, I think I shall keep this "friendship" to an online one, at least for now.
Looks like it's not going to be easy looking for people whom we can befriend here. The only Singaporeans we " know" so far are those we read about on Singaporebrides, and they are not really the kind we like, aka materialistic, gossipy, hao lian. Mabbe forums aren't the best places to find friends, or should I say, people may not be what they seem online. I dun know. Sigh!
Just read that ST is going to start subscription charges for online papers come Mar 15. Hmm. Guess that will spell the end of Singapore news for me. And other news, as a matter of fact, since I dun really watch the news here other than weather reports. Hahha. Oh well! It's still another 3 weeks or so, and mabbe by then I will find other sources..
