i got lucky

just spent half an hour at Bryan County Fairground's Community Building. They are having a one-day sale for " branded" clothes and shoes. There was Abercrombie, Hollister, Aeropostale, Lucky, Mudd (i dunno much about this brand), Adidas, CK, and some others that i can't remember.

The Community Building is a short 10 minute drive from my house. Really easy to get to, except that I was unfamiliar with the roads, so I missed the turn and had to do a U-turn. Some cars behind me were heading for the same place, but of course they knew exactly where the place was. I was surprised that the turnout was this good. I thought it'd be a really small affair with very few people, and it is VERY small-scale, but it attracted a good crowd-- cars kept coming and going when i was standing in the parking lots taking pics.

The place looks pretty run-down, something like an old community centre in singapore, albeit much smaller. All the items for sale were placed in a large room, on racks and tables.Kind of disappointing when i first entered, but then, I know i shouldn't be expecting much.

Got myself a " Lucky" tee. Nice. Other than that, couldnt find anything that i like. Actually, there wasn't much to choose from, and prices were not as dirt-cheap as i had expected. I'd go to the outlet mall anytime over this. Some designs, especially those from Adidas, were so horrendous, i couldnt quite believe it. Still, there were people who bought A LOT ( this lady in front of me at the cashier bought $150 worth of clothes), and some others who left empty-handed.

Took just a few pictures, will post em later. ( i dun have PS in my comp yet, so need to wait for yifan to resize the pics for me first) I only got a single shot of the inside, cos i was worried that someone will see me taking pics, and so I was like behaving rather furtively . Hahha. Hopefully the pic turns out okay.

I also found out that Durant is a much bigger town than I had initially thought. The other night, Yifan and I discovered some quaint little shops that look somewhat interesting. Haven't had the opportunity to check them out yet, though. And when i was in the parking lot at the fairgrounds earlier, i thought i heard horses. Might be from a nearby ranch. My guess is that there are two parts to Durant-- I am living in the newer part of town where Walmart is located, and the other part is the Historic Durant that i have just managed to catch a glimpse of.

I have been wanting to explore more, but it's not much fun doing it alone. I think i will bug yifan tonight to get him to go with me tomorrow. ;p
