A pair of 5000- year-old skeletons locked in an embrace were found by archaeologists in Italy:
Romantic? Not quite. Apparently, there is a theory going around that the male skeleton had an arrow through his spine, and the female had one on her side. The guess is that the man had been killed, and the woman then sacrificed so that he could have someone accompany his soul. Eeks!In spite of all the technological advancements, Man has not progressed very much in this respect. Recently, I read that girls in China were sold off to be "corpse brides" to accompany the souls of deceased men. The idea of that alone grossed me out. Imagine a young and pretty ( for these unscrupulous agents only go for the pretty ones) girl wasting her life away being " married" to a dead man. But the agents don't just stop there. They murder the girl, for it is really her soul that they want.
