a day at the beach:~ ermm, not quite the kind that we are used to, but we have somewhat lowered our expectations, so this was okay. it actually is not a "real" beach, since this is a man-made lake, supposedly built over cars and buildings.

lunch today was home-made roast beef sandwich enjoyed at the beach with waters lapping at our feet...Heavenly!

we discovered one of the best ways to relax. also, the weather was too hot and the sand burned our feet. :) at least sitting right in the water made it all more bearable.

according to the lady at the tourist information centre, West Burns beach is one of the best ones in Oklahoma. but really, you would be sorely disappointed if you took her words seriously. luckily for us, we were used to how people seem to regard everything as " beautiful", so we listened with more than a pinch of salt. ;p

if i had to describe how the beach really was, hmm, i'd say it's very very small, and one can hardly refer to it as a beach. it is more swampy than beach-y, there was grass on parts of it, and the general impression i had was that it resembled more like parts of Punggol before the buildings came up. definitely not the Miami type.
