Alter Ego

glad to hear that xz is doing fine on her job. we have since resorted to leaving each other messages on blogs. hahah. ever since i moved, i have been chatting less on msn. becos of the time difference, almost everyone is offline by the time i come online. :(

we went to Lake Texoma yesterday evening. it's a man-made lake and it's huge. i think the whole of Durant was there. everyone went prepared with drinks, chairs and picnic cloths. we were there with just our camera and a bottle of water. needless to say, while people were sitting comfortably, we were walking around trying to pass time... becos when i called Catfish Bay earlier, the girl said we had to get there by 7pm before the park closes. of cos, she didnt mention that we could get that after 7pm and park somewhere else. anyway, people seemed to be enjoying themselves while they waited for the fireworks display to begin at ard 9.30pm. 9.30 pm!!!! that's another 2 hours to kill. so we watched kids play at the monkey bars, watched kids play volleyball, and walked up and down. it's actually quite a nice park, with tennis courts, a golf course, basketball courts etc. but considering we didnt have anything else other than the camera with us, 2 hours is a little too long to wait. some families had grills with them and were bbq-ing. and all were enjoying the country music that was blasting from the speakers. yucks !! i hate country music.
in the end, we left. mostly becos:
~ we didnt have chairs to make ourselves comfy for the 2 hour wait
~ we didnt like the country music that was playing too loudly
~ there was intermittent drizzle
~ we thought it wasnt worth the wait for a 10 minute fireworks display
~ we didnt think a small town like this would be able to pull off anything spectacular ala the display during singapore's national day parade
~ we had better things to do at home, like surfing the net and watching tv
